Dr. Maria-Nerina Boursinou is an interdisciplinary researcher working at the intersection of (Forced) Migration, Technology and Urban studies. She is an Academic Fellow at the Research Centre for the Humanities (RCH) in Greece and an Honorary Fellow at the University of St Andrews. In 2020, she completed her PhD in the School of Media, Communication and Sociology (University of Leicester), before she moved on to her ESRC Postdoctoral Fellowship in the School of Geography and Sustainable development (University of St Andrews). Along with with the research activity, Nerina has nurtured her teaching skills and has presented her work in various international conferences. She is a founding member of the School’s Radical Urban Lab (RUL) where she is co – hosting the podcast Let’s Step Outside. Currently, Nerina is involved in an independent team project on Climate Migration while through her collaboration with RCH she is preparing an individual research proposal. Among her extended research interests are themes such as: Social Inclusion, Research Ethics and Participatory Methodologies, (the study of) the Far-Right and Social Movements.

Athens Zine is the digital outcome of the creative collaboration between people from diverse backgrounds who live or have lived in Athens for a significant part of their lives and share their stories and experiences of the city. It features the voices of people with migration experience, low-wage workers, women, etc.
