1821 DIGITAL ARCHIVE
The 1821 Digital Archive is a long-running and multi-layered research programme and as such will require ongoing multifaceted financial support.
Special mention should be made of the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, which recognised the broad scope of the project and gave its backing to the 1821 Digital Archive programme from its conception, while at the same time providing continuous and generous support across the full range of research activities carried out by the Research Centre for the Humanities.

This support was further strengthened by ‘Initiative 1821-2021’, in the framework of which National Bank of Greece, in partnership with private foundations, and cultural, and academic institutions in this country, has enhanced, networked, and promoted programmes and events to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution. Public benefit foundations in Greece, which exist to support endeavours and initiatives of an academic, cultural, or educational nature, have made a significant contribution to the programme.

In addition, the contribution of other public or private bodies was significant. Of particular importance is the support given to the programme by the Greek Public Power Corporation, which, in addition to significant financial support, kindly gave permission to the 1821 Digital Archive to present the Geographical Plan of Greece, a map of remarkable artistic and historical significance produced by Anthimos Gazis.
